Mar del Sud

Lowering clouds gather
Reflecting blue-hrey-silver in the 
Current-ruffled water
When all else is still as held breath

The sanding path, well-worn,
Leads to stepping stones, 
Tan and dry, like no one
Has danced across their surface
For days upon days

All the yellow-green lushness
Tropical vegetation, palms and
Grasses are vivid green, so
Vibrant they glow with life

I will not skip these
Tempting stones,
My Nordic self is too graceless
And surely I would
Fall, splashing, and
Disturb the stillness

Instead I will gaze softly
At tropical beauty
And try to absorb some warmth
From the very sight
